Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections

Upon reading the newspaper this past Friday, June 5, I came across an interesting article submitted by Mr. Michael J. Ferrier. The article was titled "What a democracy we live in"
What is a Democracy?
Democracy is defined as the following:
a) A form of government in which the people choose leaders by voting.
b) An organisation or situation in which everyone is treated equally and has equal rights.
Now that we all understand the meaning of the word, let's move on to the subject matter at hand:
*MP Frans G. Richardson 722 votes.
*Mr. Michael J. Ferrier 128 votes.
The people of St. Maarten sent a resounding message to Mr. Michael J. Ferrier by voting 5 to 1 for MP Frans G. Richardson over Mr. Michael J. Ferrier. A man of super integrity, high intelligence, and unwavering conviction regarding which path to follow when it comes to the future of the country St. Maarten.
The esteemed Shakespearian like author, resigned from the Democratic Party when his leader decided to join the UP lead coalition. Let’s see who a man of his calibre supports publicly or privately in the electoral process of the year 2018. That decision "with explanation" or not, should lessen his confusion as to the kind of democracy we live in on St. Maarten.
