Philipsburg -- The Country Club at Port De Plaisance in collaboration with the school manager of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Primary have teamed up for a special physical education project.

The Cycle 2 classes of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Primary School will be adding professional tennis classes to their physical education experience. The Physical Education Coach Kevin Dekkers along with the respective class teachers will assist during these special classes.

"I am elated to finalize this agreement which only serves in the best interest of our students by adding to their physical education opportunities while at our school," remarked Stuart Johnson School Manager of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Primary School.

"My daily motivation is to create different opportunities for our students and allow them to reach their God-given potential. Students should receive a balance in their learning experiences both inside the classroom and outside of the classroom. I have no doubt the launch of this tennis project will serve as a great motivation for the students to excel as displaying good sportsmanship is high on the priority list of our school," Johnson added.

â€œIt is with great pleasure in welcoming the students of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Primary School to the Country Club Port de Plaisance.  Exposure to this challenging game of Tennis with teamwork, physical education and this great opportunity to learn a new sport will be a wonderful and educational experience for these children and quite certain to be continued into their future life’s ahead,” Marc J. Morand General Manager of the Country Club at Port de Plaisance.

“We love supporting our local schools and this particular school simply stood out to us for many reasons," said Managing Director of Marine Management & Consulting Jeffrey Dale Boyd.

Mr. Boyd added, "one of the main reasons the school stood out was because of the willingness of the school’s manager Mr. Johnson to see this project become a reality for the students. I have no doubt this will transcend in the actual tennis experience the students will receive by our tennis professionals."

The tennis program will start on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at The Country Club at Port De Plaisance.

Both Mr. Boyd and Mr. Johnson expressed their appreciation to everyone who made this project possible and hoped for a longstanding working relationship.
