Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
Governor Eugene Holiday, Parliament Chairwoman Sarah Wescot-Williams and Prime Minister William Marlin joined Bishop of Willemstad Luigi Secco and Parish Priest Adam Oleszczuk on Sunday to mark the 175th Anniversary of the Catholic Church on St. Maarten. Marlin said in his speech to mark the occasion: “For the last 175 years, the Catholic Church has had a very significant impact on our lives, not only in the spiritual realm, but also in the educational and social fields. No wonder the church grew by leaps and bounds.†He noted that the Church put its roots down here 22 years before the Proclamation of Emancipation.
