PHILIPSBURG:--- The Board of Directors of the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry (COCI), through its president Benjamin Ortega is pleased to announce and welcome the appointment of its new Business Development Officer (BDO) Sharilyn Bryson effective September 1.Bryson attended Milton Peters College, then successfully pursued her higher education in the Netherlands thereby obtaining a masters degree in Management Policy-Analysis (MPA) and Entrepreneurship, with a specialization in business management attained at the Vrije Universiteit (VU) van Amsterdam.One of her roles and duties within her capacity as the Business Development Officer includes ensuring that the operations of the Chambers Business Center function effectively and efficiently. The business community can expect a further enhancement in the level of engagement from COCI whereby their current business needs can be tabled, addressed, and lobbied with the relevant stakeholders. Additionally, new, and upcoming business enthusiasts will see a further enhanced platform for which their business ideas can be developed and become a reality now that COCI has filled this essential position.Brysons recruitment was conducted by an independent body outside of COCI and was the chosen candidate from a large number of applicants, not given only to her academic credentials but also to her open nature, bright ideas, and enthusiasm to serve the business community of St. Maarten during these challenging times.
