Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
MARIGOT--Claire Javois Guion-Firmin was recently appointed to the position of Assistant Director of the Riu Palace Hotel in Anse Marcel, St. Martin Tourism Office President Jeanne Rogers-Vanterpool disclosed. In congratulating her, Rogers-Vanterpool said the promotion was "well deserved" for a native St. Martiner and veteran in the hotel business.
"The Riu could not have made a better choice in terms of someone who not only has years of experience in the field, but who is also dedicated, committed and customer oriented," the Rogers-Vanterpool stated. "Claire Javois has been known as one of the foremost union leaders on the island, and has won many concessions for her constituents. As a supervisor she has also shown a commitment to customer service and doing everything to make the hotel environment more customer-friendly.
"She is an all-around asset and the Riu management has chosen wisely, because there are very few veterans in this domain who have the know-how and hands-on experience of the hotel industry on the island like she does."
Javois Guion-Firmin has worked at the hotel property located in Anse Marcel for the last 29 years and has served under four different owners. The hotel was most recently the Radisson Blu St. Martin before it changed hands last year to become the Riu Palace St. Martin.
Riu Palace has already won acclaim for its customer service and friendly environment. The Caribbean Journal named it one of the 10 Best All Inclusive Family hotels in the Caribbean in 2014. The hotel was also recently named among the "11 Caribbean All-Inclusive Resorts to visit in 2015" by the online magazine.
