However, the Amjad's "Mac and Rena" are dedicated business people that are not afraid to take chances, while working endless hours to build the businesses they own. On Friday night a large number of dignitaries and other members of the community attended the launching of the Audi brand of vehicles that are now available on St. Maarten. Imran Macsood Amjad told the gathering that acquiring Audi brand took them three years, he said for them to be able to become an Audi dealer they had to do every single thing that Audi required of them including building a beautiful showroom on Union Road Cole Bay, train their staff and ensure that everything was done the way Audi wants it. Macsood gave a lot of credit to his son Tariq Amjad whom he said sometimes spent all night at the location to ensure everything was done perfectly. He said people have to work hard to get where they want besides that they must not take shortcuts because shortcuts leads to shortfalls. Macsood also credited his wife Rena for being on top of everything and also being a perfectionist to get things done the way it ought to be done for them as a family to be successful. His son who is the Managing Director of Caribbean Auto Sales gave detail information as how tedious it was for him to get everything in order to acquire the Audi dealership, he said it took them three long years, with hard work but the dedication, hard work and investment paid off because St. Maarten now has one of the leading brand of vehicles that can be purchased on the island. The younger Amjad said that clients will be treated will receive the best care and treatment when they shop at Audi St. Maarten, besides the vehicles, Audi St. Maarten also has a line of other products such as bags, pants and other items that can be given as gifts. Audi sales manager Martin Port said that Audi's sales have been increasing and so far they are the number one car dealer around the world. Prime Minister Marcel Gumbs also gave a short speech at the launching ceremony, Minister of TEATT (Economic Affairs) Claret Connor also addressed the gathering. The most important part of the evening was when the line-up of Audi vehicles were displayed inside and outside of the showroom. Indeed the vehicles are custom made, even ones name can be carved inside or wherever they want it, any customer can sit with an Audi agent on Union Road Cole Bay and literally build their own vehicle. They have the opportunity to choose the color of leather and even the color thread they want on their seats. Macsood treated himself to one of the first vehicles that bore his name on the inside of the door. At the launching the Amjad's and their staff were delighted to finally be able to open up their business in order to service St. Maarten.
Farina Amjad thanked a number of people, including Dilion Smith, the one they said suggested to Tariq to go after the Audi and to bring to St. Maarten. She thanked her son Tariq several times for his hard work and dedication also her staff and even the media for publicizing their businesses.
