Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
COLE BAY--World-renowned German car brand Audi inaugurated its St. Maarten establishment amongst business partners, dignitaries and invited guests Friday night with a formal gathering culminating in the unveiling of five luxury cars, one of which was custom-made for company Chairman Imran Mcsood Amjad.
Audi set up the new location in collaboration with Caribbean Auto in Cole Bay. Latin American Sales Manager Martin Port welcomed it to the Audi family. Imran and Managing Director Tariq Amjad shared the unique selling points of Audi and some of the history making the launch possible.
Customisation, down to the colour of the threading of the leather seats, was just one of the possibilities Tariq described. The pair touted German quality and timely maintenance, and Tariq described "world of Audi" exclusivity and customer attention; free gifts, including bags, belts and shoes; and the possibility of using another Audi car while an owner's vehicle is being repaired.
He said the branded store, down to the certified master technicians and details such as music played, would offer the same experience as international locations, whether it be in Paris, Shanghai or Mumbai.
Prime Minister Marcel Gumbs, St. Martin Collectivité Second Vice President Ramona Connor and St. Maarten Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication Claret Connor also took to the podium for congratulatory words.
"First, congratulations are indeed in order for Caribbean Auto and Audi Latin America, whose vision and commitment to their brand has made this new dealership, which reiterates our country's position as a luxury brand destination, a reality," said Gumbs
"The economic partnership that comes with such a project is one that holds short- and long-term benefits for all involved. It is encouraging to see that St. Maarten continues to attract this type of investment and we look forward to seeing what the Audi brand accomplishes in this corner of the region."
Chief Executive Officer Farina Amjad gave the vote of thanks before inviting Gumbs to cut the ribbon and inviting the attendees to the showroom for the much-anticipated and well-received unveiling.
Other dignitaries, including Acting Governor Reynold Groeneveldt, Minister Rita Bourne-Gumbs and numerous members of Parliament, along with other attendees, were able to browse and sit in the cars.
The event was hosted by Artemia and Dylan Smith acted as Master of Ceremonies for the night.
