>PHILIPSBURG:---- “As Prime Minister it’s my distinct honor to extend my support to the staff of the Department of Labor Affairs and Social Services for the upcoming Start Here Campaign, which as I understand aims to boost the jobseekers database to meet the very diverse needs of the local labor market,†Prime Minister
Marcel Gumbs
pointed out recently.
“It is an initiative that I fully encourage as we have made tackling employment challenges an important part of the governing program ‘Ready to Work for You’. It goes without saying that I am also encouraging the general public and business community to participate fully in the various initiatives of this campaign, which vary from the registration drive to the acquisition of a vacancy bank.
“The first such initiative to be held on Thursday September 3 at the Clem Labega Square is an activity filled registration drive for higher academic graduates from Secondary and Tertiary levels. However, I was assured by the Department Head that all persons will be registered, irrespective of their educational level.
“Labor is a core aspect of our society, encouraging decent labor practices, finding different and efficient ways to support the labor market will continue to be one of the priorities of this government.
“With the support of the Council of Ministers I endorse the Start Here Campaign: Your Path to Employment & Career Development,†Prime Minister
Marcel Gumbs
concluded.
