>PHILIPSBURG:--- The KeLaHa Projects is now officially listed as a partner of the international organization Globe-athon. Globe-athon To End Women's Cancers Globe-athon is the only international movement focused on the prevention and early detection of all gynecological cancers including uterine (endometrial), cervical, ovarian, vaginal and vulvar. The movement to end women's cancers is supported by international gynecologists, gynecological oncologists and doctors, as well as gynecological cancer survivors. September is Gynecologic cancer awareness month and both the KeLaHa Projects and Globe-athon has joined forces to make an even bigger impact internationally to bring more awareness of not only cervical cancers but all below the belt cancers that affects women. One such effort is through The KeLaHa Projects BIKE / WALK –A-Thon on September 7th starting at 5:00AM at the Government parking lot (University/ Telem) in Philipsburg. The event is being held in support of their ongoing cervical cancer & HPV awareness programs, not only as a fundraiser but also as a platform to engage community member even more in the awareness of cervical cancer & HPV, create networking and support for this vital and necessary cause. Tickets can be purchased from any of KeLaHa Projects members or on the day of the event. Tickets are priced at USD 10.00 and include one (1) T-shirt and refreshments. Participants who will be walking or biking in GROUPS or with their TEAM (s) and prefer to personalize their own T-Shirt (s) to compliment themselves and be recognized at our BIKE /WALK-a-Thon can do just that. They can purchase their ticket (2) for 10$ and choose to wear their very own personalized T-Shirt.
Bikes can be rented at TriSports in Simpson Bay (across from McDonalds or Point Blanche (next to Chester Field's Restaurant). LET'S MAKE THIS WALK/ RIDE....PERSONAL!!! Community members have sponsored a number of tickets that were donated to schools of their choice as to allow the participants of students. We encourage Individuals, Corporate bodies, Organizations, Schools and various groups to come out and participate in the process towards ENDING CERVICAL CANCER. Join us this month as we celebrate Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month, as we join forces with our partner Globe-athon to make a global impact. Through Globe-athon, The KeLaHa Projects have joined the global movement of people all over the world working to raise awareness for and ultimately increase early detection and prevention of gynaecological cancers. This month, more than 170 events will be held in 70 countries (Including KeLaHa Projects BIKE / WALK –A-THON) to change the lives of millions of women and families affected by gynecologic cancers.
As a new partner of the international organization Globe-Athon, together we have pledged to continue our efforts to do our part in ENDING CERVICAL CANCER globally.
