Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The Parliament of St. Maarten met on Tuesday.
The purpose of the meeting was to further discuss the status of insurance coverage for police officers and their families.
The meeting was at the request of Members of Parliament, Leona Marlin-Romeo, Tamara Leonard and Franklin Meyers.
Whilst speaking on the floor of Parliament and in responding to questions put to him.
Minister of Justice the Honourable Edson Kiringdongo explained how police officers and their families stand to benefit from the insurance coverage.
The insurance coverage is to cost the justice ministry some 35 guilders per person on a monthly basis or 420 guilders per employee yearly.
