PHILIPSBURG:--- Police arrested a 21 year old man identified as A.R.S.R on September 12th, 2014 for the murder, manslaughter and or rape of the 20 year old Blue Point employee Clemencia Julot whose body was found in the bushes in Oyster Pond in the vicinity of Border Bar and Casablanca on Thursday July 22nd, 2010.Julot was killed in the early morning hours either one or two days before her partly decomposed body was found in the bushes in Oyster Pond by a search team. At the time of the killing her father and other relatives of murder victim Clemencia Julot told SMN News that Julot had left her home to go jogging around 5 am and she was never seen alive again. A few days later her body was found by a search team that comprised of her friends, co-workers and other persons.Ever since the brutal murder police arrested several persons that had a murder record as they tried to hunt down the killer through DNA testing. However, all of the suspects that were arrested were cleared because their DNA never matched the DNA found on Julot's body. One of the persons arrested is well known in French Quarter, that suspect was very angry at the media and bloggers who judged him while in police custody. He told SMN News that he was cleared from the murder of Clemencia Julot through DNA testing which former Chief Prosecutor Hans Mos confirmed to SMN News. SMN News learned that the suspect had fled the island to the Dominican Republic shortly after killing Julot but returned to the island when he believed he was safe.According to a press release from Prosecutor Karola Van Nie, the suspect was arrested on September 12th, 2014, he already appeared before the judge of instruction and he is currently in his first eight day pre-trial detention.The press release from the Public Prosecutors Office states that the suspect was arrested in the Iron investigation. Prosecutor Van Nie said that the investigation was conducted by KPSM, RST, and the French Gendarmerie in 2010 but it restarted in 2013 which led to the arrest of the 21 year old man.SMN News asked Prosecutor Van Nie why the prosecution kept the arrest hidden for so long and if they already conducted DNA testing to verify whether or not they have the right suspect in custody this time around. Prosecutor Van Nie declined to comment on the questions SMN News posed to her stating that more information will be released in the coming days or weeks. On September 12, 2014 a 21-year-old man, A.R.S.R. was arrested in Sint Maarten on suspicion of murder/manslaughter and/or rape. The arrest took place in the investigation "Iron",that started in 2010 after the death of the then 20 year old woman Clemencia Julot.Clemencia Julot was found on Thursday, July 22, 2010 in the bushes along the Oyster Pond Road between Borderbar and Casablanca. She was missing since July 20, 2010 and was killed by violence.The investigation was conducted by a partnership of KPSM, RST and the French Gendarmerie. In 2013 the investigation was restarted, which led to the arrest of the suspect. The suspect is already brought before the judge of instruction who ordered his further pre-trial detention.Given the current investigation the public prosecution service will not give further comments
