Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - Leader of the UP MP the Honorable Theo Heyliger Wednesday evening spoke about their ten month period in office before being removed from government by a National Alliance led coalition.
The UP leader stated that his party was never given the opportunity to fulfill the plans that they had for the island of St. Maarten.
These include providing jobs for the people of the island, improving tourism and the economy of the island.
MP Heyliger also spoke of the problems with the constant fires at the Philipsburg dump.
He promised the electorate that within six months of being elected in September that the problems with the dump will be solved.
He also stated that his party in government will build the new hospital and improve the islands tourism figures.
