Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - Leader of the United St. Maarten (US) party MP Frans Richardson on Tuesday congratulated Sharine Daniel on her appointment as Chairwoman of the SZV supervisory board.
Richardson said whenever a local, qualified young person gets appointed in such positions, they should be lauded and supported "because this is what we need to see more of."
"The fact that she is a hard-working, professional woman is significant as it is the first for a local female in that position, but the fact that she was appointed on her merits and qualifications is even more significant," Richardson said.
"Ms. Daniel is one of our academics who has returned home to give back to her community and apply her knowledge to whatever professional position she is blessed to holds.
Our young adults being appointed to these top positions sends a good message to young people who are away studying and looking to return home.
We need all of you to guide this country forward. We wish Ms. Daniel much success in her new position," Richardson added.
