Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - On the eve of the all-important Parliamentary Elections of September 26, the Sint Maarten Christian Party (SMCP) wishes to thank the general public for its support of the party during this election season.
Though, a new party, the warmth, love and support from the people of Sint Maarten has been overwhelming and very encouraging.
We are truly heartened by the support from the people. The people want a change in the way their national affairs are being managed and they are energized by the formation of the Sint Maarten Christian Party.
Following the attack on the party in Belvedere last Wednesday night by unknown culprits, the party solidified itself and continued its forward thrust towards the achievement of good governance.
It was an incredible experience to see the wave of support SMCP received from people condemning the attack. We also want to thank those civic and political leaders who reached out to the party with motivational words. We are encouraged to note that in times like these people can set aside differences and act in the interest of the nation.
The SMCP is confident that the support from among St. Maarteners will continue to expand and multiply even after the elections. We look forward to serving a united Country Sint Maarten as its elected representatives based on the principals of integrity, accountability, transparency and compassion.
We encourage every voter to go out and exercise your right to vote. Remember every vote counts!
