Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG--President of Parliament Sarah Wescot-Williams met with President of the Dutch Second Chamber of Parliament Anouchka van Miltenburg at SXM Airport on Friday. Van Miltenburg was on her way to Saba for the start of a tour of the six islands.
Accompanying the Dutch Second Chamber of Parliament President is Secretary General J.E. Biesheuvel-Vermeijden, Secretary General Kingdom Relations Second Chamber of Parliament T.N.J. de Lange and spokesperson L.C. Konings.
Van Miltenburg was elected as president of the Second Chamber on September 25, 2012. She has been a member of the Second Chamber since 2003.
The President of the First Chamber of the Dutch Parliament, Ankie Broekers-Knol, along with support staff were in transit in St. Maarten en route to Saba on Sunday.
The entire delegation will be in St. Maarten on Tuesday and will pay a courtesy visit to Governor Eugene Holiday, the Council of Ministers and House of Parliament on the same day.
The delegation will be given a tour of Parliament House and will have lunch with St. Maarten Members of Parliament. The delegation will also be given a tour of the Courthouse.
The Dutch Presidents of Parliament are visiting the islands on invitation of the Presidents of Parliament of Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten.
