Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG — Â As a way to commemorate the 28th Anniversary, Office World donated 1000 composition books and other school supplies to the Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Silveria Jacobs. The books are welcomed at an ideal time, especially after the passing of Hurricane Irma whereby many children may have lost their books and/or school supplies.
Minister Jacobs expressed her congratulations and gratitude to the management and staff of Office World for serving the community and businesses with supplies for the last 28 years. “Every little bit counts and we are very happy for the donation of school supplies as many parents, who are unable to purchase new supplies, will be happy to receive them for their children.â€
Ms. Sonia Johnson, an employee of Office World for 22 years, made the donation and expressed her wishes that the supplies bring about enhancement of education on the island, especially since the devastation the island has endured.
The school materials will be divvied up amongst the schoolboards and be distributed to the students who are most in need. (In Photo: Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Silveria Jacobs accepting the donation from Sonia Johnson, employee of Office World)
