Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – The Minister ofPublic Health,Social Development and Labor,Omar Ottleyextends sympathy tothe familyand friendsof Sint Maartens63rdCOVID-19 victim, whohas passed away. Hewishesthe familycomfortand strengthduringtheir time of grief.
As ofSeptember 25th,therewere sixteen (16)personswho tested positive for COVID-19;howeverfourteen (14)persons have recovered; bringing the total active casesto one hundred sixty six (166). Thetotalnumberofconfirmed cases is nowfour thousand two hundred thirteen (4213).
The Collective Prevention Services (CPS) are monitoring one hundred fifty six (156) people in home isolation. Ten (10) patients remain hospitalized at the St. Maarten Medical Center. The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 has increased to sixty three (63).
The number of people recovered since the first case surfaced on St. Maarten has increased to three thousand nine hundred eighty four (3984). One hundred twelve (112) people are in quarantine based on contact tracing investigations carried out by CPS.
The Ministry ofPublic Health,Social Development and Labour (VSA) Airport Health Team in collaboration with Health Care Laboratory Sint Maarten(HCLS)havetested3,707travelers arriving at the Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA), while CPStested 41,509people throughout the community. As the numbers continue to fluctuate,CPS will continue to actively execute its contact tracing measures.
