Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
St. Maarten —A “minor misunderstanding†has lead to one man being stabbed in the abdomen on New Year’s Day at a bar on the A. Th Illidge Road, according to information provided by inspector Steven Carty, currently the acting public relations officer for the police.
“On Thursday January 1st at approximately 11:00 am the patrol was dispatched to Francis Bar on the A. Th. Illidge road for a stabbing incident. On arrival the victim and suspect both of Dominican decent had already left the scene. The victim was already transported to the St Maarten Medical Center for medical attention.
“There he explained to the patrol that he had received a stab wound to his abdominal area. According to the victim it was a minor misunderstanding that got out of hand. After being treated at the Medical Center he was released. An official complaint has been filed and an investigation will follow,†Inspector Carty explained.
He added that the identity of the perpetrator is known to the police but no arrest has been made at this time and no warrant has been filed for the man’s arrest.
