Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The Main Voting Bureau and the Civil Registry Department concerning alleged discrepancies during and in preparation of the August 29th parliamentary elections last year, was the focus of a parliamentary meeting on Wednesday.
The meeting was at request of Members of Parliament Leona Marlin-Romeo, Tamara Leonard and Cornelius de Weever.
Also discussed were discrepancies at the Prison polling station, among other areas.
Chairman of the Main Voting Bureau is Jason Rogers.
Whilst speaking on the floor of Parliament and in addressing the situation at the polling station at the prison during the elections, he gave an overview as to why it was made so difficult for some prisoners at the Point Blanche Prison Facility to vote.
