PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – El presidente del Sindicato de Maestros de las Islas de Barlovento (WITU), Stuart Johnson, revel su posicin sobre las medidas de reduccin de costos propuestas que estn afectando a la clase trabajadora de St. Maarten.

“Parece que ha habido muchas discusiones y decisiones ad hoc, pero no hay un acuerdo consolidado con WITU”, dijo Johnson.

El presidente de WITU envi una carta dirigida a la Primera Ministra Silveria Jacobs en la que se describe la postura firme de WITU.

“Si bien aprecio que se mantenga el salario base de nuestros miembros y, por extensin, de todos los trabajadores involucrados, el hecho es que no tenemos un acuerdo slido sobre las otras propuestas”, dijo.

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — El presidente del Sindicato de Maestros de las Islas de Barlovento (WITU), Stuart Johnson, se reuni recientemente con el personal de la Academia Charlotte Brookson (CBA).

Johnson estuvo acompaado por el Tesorero de WITU, Robert Rawlins, y el miembro de la Junta de WITU, Silvy Ravenberg.

“Estoy orgulloso de este momento histrico al unirse a WITU, pero deseara que fuera en condiciones de trabajo ms positivas para usted”, afirm Johnson.

Es la primera vez que el personal de CBA se une a la membresa de WITU comenzando con ocho nuevos miembros fuertes.

El personal esboz una lista de preocupaciones que enfrentaban mientras buscaban esta importante reunin con WITU.

It's the first time staff of CBA joined the membership of WITU starting with eight new members strong.

The staff outlined a list of concerns facing them as they sought this important meeting with the WITU.

WITU has already submitted a request to convene a meeting with the Board of CBA at the soonest opportunity.

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – El presidente del Sindicato de Maestros de las Islas de Barlovento (WITU), Stuart Johnson, pide la divulgacin completa del informe de la Inspeccin de Salud y todos los informes anteriores realizados para la Escuela Primaria Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. desde el paso del huracn Irma.

“Todos los informes, especialmente el ltimo, deben hacerse pblicos con respecto a la situacin actual en la escuela, ya que nunca fue una prioridad”, dice Johnson.

A decir verdad, fue WITU quien alert a la Inspeccin de Salud sobre la situacin en la escuela y lo hizo formalmente a travs de una correspondencia por correo electrnico, afirm Johnson.

“All reports especially the latest report must be made public regarding the ongoing situation at school as the school was never a priority,” says Johnson.

Truth be told, it was the WITU that alerted the Health Inspectorate about the situation at the school and did so formally via an e-mail correspondence, stated Johnson.

Johnson added, I must dispel the misconception as if I simply appeared on the campus as I was called by the staff members of WITU which I represent.”

Notable to mention for the record was that on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, an email correspondence was dispatched to the Health Inspectorate from the WITU.

Witu Preocupada Por Dr. M.L.K. Jr. Primary School

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — El presidente del Sindicato de Maestros de las Islas de Barlovento (WITU), Stuart Johnson, envi una carta al Honorable Ministro de Educacin, los dres.
