Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The combination of the National Alliance, Democratic Party and the United St. Maarten Party have decided on the division of seats in the wake of the agreement signed on Saturday morning, August 30th.
According to documents obtained, the National Alliance will be responsible for portfolios of VROMI, Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs.
The party will also be responsible for appointing the new Prime Minister of St. Maarten. They will also be responsible for GEBE, UTS N.V. and the Saba Bank Resources N.V.
The Democratic Party of St. Maarten will be responsible for Justice, Public Health, Social Affairs and Labour, Deputy Minister of Plenipotentiary, Deputy Prime Minister, and the Chair Person of Parliament.
They will also be responsible for the TeLem Group of Companies, SLS and Winair.
The United St. Maarten Party will be responsible for the Ministry of Tourism and Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, 1st Vice Chairperson of Parliament, the St. Maarten Harbour Group of Companies and its affiliates, Princess Juliana Airport Holding Company and its affiliates and the St. Maarten Postal Services NV.
