Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten -The HOPE political party Tuesday had their list of three candidates supported by the required 146 voters.
The party surpassed the required amount by having 213 voters support their list as of 4pm Tuesday.
The Central Voting Bureau will meet on Thursday to review the corrected discrepancies of all of the political parties as well as to review the endorsed list of the HOPE after which it will be announced that the parties are eligible to contest the September 26th 2016 Parliamentary elections.
In a press statement Tuesday afternoon the HOPE party Leader Mercedes van der Waals-Wyatt stated that she was elated to hear the final count at 4pm of 213 signatures.
Many persons came out to sign for HOPE as of 9am this morning. There was a steady flow of people through out the day and at 12.28 they had already reached the required signatures.
Hope team is ready for the next step which is finalizing the other minor omissions.
Hope would like to thank persons in the community that came to support us and to people that just came by to give us encouraging words and hugs. We are entusiastic committed to serving the people of St. Maarten. Giving us this chance to partake in the elections is a way of showing that people are open for change.
HOPE is the needle in the haystack of political parties, if you look through it well you will find HOPE.
Good things come in small packages Mercedes van der Waals-Wyatt stated.
Thanks again and let continue to keep HOPE alive in St. Maarten as we continue to work with comitted community oriented persons that want to Help our people Excel!!
So concluded the press statement of the HOPE Leader.
