Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Panos Caribbean’s Voices for Climate Change Education artistes Aaron Silk, Cameal Davis and Minori Russell are among the acts who will grace the stage at today’s Climate Change concert in Kingston.
The concert — which begins at 6:00 pm inside the capital’s Emancipation Park — will be the icing on the cake of Jamaica’s now annual Climate Walk, the brainchild of Environmental Solutions Limited.
It will also culminate the island’s Climate Change Awareness Week, activities which have been led by the Climate Change Division of the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation.
Silk, Davis and Russell — all accomplished and celebrated singers — have long been committed to environmental education, giving, over the years, yeoman’s service to the Voices for Climate Change Education effort.
Voices has been a flagship Panos project since inception in 2009. Last year, artistes from the project — Silk and Russell among them — lent their talents to the ‘1.5 To Stay Alive’ campaign, designed to raise awareness about climate change in the Caribbean while rallying support for the region’s climate negotiators at the international climate talks held in Paris in December.
Meanwhile, today’s concert will also feature Wowski McCalpin, a police constable and creative act who performed at Rebel Salute 2015 and who leads the Fighting Crime with Rhymes initiative of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
