~UPP, PFP, and NA supports the signing of agreement and COHO

 PHILIPSBURG: --- The coalition partners that are supporting the government of St. Maarten give the Prime Minister of St. Maarten its blessings in the form of a verbal declaration to go ahead and sign the COHO law. The leader of the UPP faction was the first to give the Prime Minister the declaration State Secretary Raymond Knops wants when he demanded that she gets such prior to the December 18th meeting.

UPP supports the signing of COHO Law.

PHILIPSBURG--- Leader of the Party for Progress (PFP) Melissa Gumbs confirmed in a Facebook post on Monday night that she also tested positive for the COVID-19. Gumbs is the 3rd Member of Parliament that have tested positive thus far.
Last week when Gumbs attended a virtual Parliamentary meeting it was clear that she was exhibiting flu-like symptoms.

70 Active Covid-19 Cases Registered.

PHILIPSBURG: --- St. Maarten has registered 70 active COVID-19 cases as of today August 3rd, 2020, with 167 persons in quarantine. The numbers on St. Maarten is steadily increasing since July 1st, 2020. Currently, the Netherlands has placed travel restrictions for the island and had coded St. Maarten Orange.
Among the infected are two Members of parliament namely Sidharth Cookie Bijlani who is currently hospitalized and Raeyhon Peterson along with Dutch representative Chris Johnson.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Member of Parliament from the UP faction Sidharth Cookie Bijlani announced on Thursday through a post on his Facebook that he was also tested positive for the COVID-19. Earlier this week MP Bijlani announced that his son tested positive while he tested negative he said on Friday, July 24th when he tested it was negative but by Monday, July 27th he began experiencing symptoms and tested again and was informed today Thursday, July 30th that he is COVID-19 positive. Bijlani is the second MP in the last two days that announced their results.
On Wednesday PFP Member of Parliament, Raeyhon Peterson made the announcement on Facebook.
It should be noted that Peterson and the son of Bijlani visited the Lotus Night Club in Simpson Bay where they were infected with the virus.
