Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
GREAT BAY(DCOMM): ---- Minister Hon. Ingrid Arrindell of the Ministry Tourism, Economic Affairs, Traffic and Telecommunications (Ministry TEATT), is commending the community with respect to their participation in assisting the organizers of the Heineken Regatta with a clean-up of the Kim Sha beach on Saturday, January 9.
This was the first event with respect to preparations that are underway for the 36th edition of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta which will take place from March 3-6.
This was the 4th edition of the clean-up as Kim Sha beach is one of the venues for the regatta events.
Community participation included students and local organizations such as LAB Sports Academy, Scouting Antiano, K1 Britannia Foundation, Learning Unlimited, St. Maarten Christian Party, and the St. Maarten Academy PSVE, were among 50 volunteers that took part in removing approximately 200 kilos in 40 bags of garbage.
During the morning of the clean-up, there was a presentation from Manager of Nature Foundation Tadzio Bervoets, who informed about the effects of pollution on marine life and promoted environmental awareness to the kids.
