Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - Fifteen-year-old Sa’Vannah-Rae Brooks is a budding musical prodigy. A student of Leroy Vlaun School of Music, Ms. Brooks plays the piano, guitar, violin, steelpan and cello.
Sa’Vannah Rae has been invited to attend the Philadelphia International Music Festival from July 16 – 29, 2016, to study with musicians of the world renowned Philadelphia Orchestra. Ms. Brooks will join an international group of talented, focused, young students, to enhance her skills on the violin, cello and piano at Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
The program includes private lessons and master classes; daily orchestra rehearsals, solo performance hours and music education. The festival will culminate with a Grand Recital with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
To assist Ms. Brooks the St. Maarten Children Club in collaboration with Mr. Leroy Vlaun School of Music will host a Dinner Musical Experience this Sunday July 10, 2016 at the Philipsburg Cultural & Community Center. The event kicks off at 6:30 pm and features a 3-course dinner with a variety of musical entertainment.
This event will feature Ms. Brooks on the violin, cello, steelpan and piano. Guest performers include Lisandra Anselm, Amalia Hamilton and Quinton of the Leroy Vlaun School of Music. Special guests Fred York and Donevan Froston, with Master of Ceremonies Mr. Peter Gittens.
