Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - Former Formatuer, Member of Parliament and leader of the National Alliance, the Honorable William Marlin held a press conference on Sunday.
The reason was to provide the media with information regarding the latest political situation on the island.
Whilst speaking at the press conference on Sunday, Mr. Marlin also brought the media up to speed with regards to the agreement that was signed by three (3) political parties namely the United St. Maarten Party with 2 seats, the Democratic Party with 2 seats and the National Alliance with 4 seats to form the next government.
Since then, there have been same changes in the formation process, as the number 2 candidate on the slate of the Democratic Party, Minister of Health, Social Affairs and Labour, the Honorable Cornelius de Weever has signed an agreement to work with the United People's Party of Member of Parliament, the Honorable Theo Heyliger.
Whilst addressing that subject at the press conference, the former Formatuer stated that he was made aware of a problem with the coalition of three.
The Member of Parliament and leader of the National Alliance, William Marlin also gave some insight into the governing programme, as was been presented by the political parties.
