Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG:--- TelEm Group is putting strict safety measures in place for Outside Plant (OSP) and Technical staff who are coming into contact with customers and members of the public each day to make new installations and effect repairs. The company will be issuing a safety checklist that all company technicians and subcontractors working in the field are expected to follow each time they enter a home or business to carry out a telecommunication installation or repair.According to TelEm Group CEO, Mr. Kendall Dupersoy, the safety of persons working in the field is paramount and has his personal attention. The safety of homeowners visited by the same technicians also has his attention. On Thursday I instructed the Management Team to put a Checklist together that all technicians will be expected to follow outlining all the steps they have to follow to protect themselves from becoming infected with the COCID-19 virus and to assure customers in the homes they visit, that safety protocols are being followed to protect them also, said Mr. Dupersoy. The CEO says the new checklist will outline what the technicians are expected to wear and the sanitation procedures they are expected to follow, including washing of hands, use of disinfecting sprays and wipes and distancing themselves from persons in the homes. At this time, with more and more residents working from home, it is vital for the economy for us to provide the connections that are needed to ensure a work from home strategy is properly supported technically, said Mr. Dupersoy. He says this means having to send technicians and engineers to make the necessary connections and also requires their entry into homes and offices.Understandably some persons are nervous about letting anyone from the outside into their home for fear of infection, however, this is a perfect opportunity, while persons are at home to join them to our State-0f-the-Art Fiber Network, where we have additional capacity and reliability of service, said the TelEm Group CEO.Mr. Dupersoay said he will be asking homeowners and businesses to monitor the work of the installers/technicians and confirm that they have accomplished all that is listed on the Checklist so that managers can maintain strict quality control.Anyone who does not follow the strict guidelines to the letter will be reprimanded and/or removed from any further involvement in the project until further notice, said Mr. Dupersoy.
