Children's Book Week At The Library
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The Philipsburg Jubilee Library is getting all geared up for Children's Book Week 2014.
Between November 16th and November 22nd the library will once again host a spectacular event, focused on the joy of reading and storytelling. This year's theme is "Folktales and Fairytales from around the world ".
The main event this year will be the children's play "The Donkey tale", performed by Youth theatre group Bonaire, under the leadership of artist and dramaturge Jackie Bernabela.

Dei Present Newly Developed Caf Curriculum
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – Late last year, DEI launched the Cultural Artistic Formation (CAF) adaptation project which entailed the development of lesson plans that reflect the local situation.
Imbrace Group LLC was contracted to steer the project, assemble a curriculum writing team and work with the writing team to develop the materials.
The need for this project was identified in a retraining trajectory where it became evident that there were no existing materials for CAF that reflect our local situation.

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – With the date of St. Maarten's parliamentary elections drawing near, several female candidates contesting the elections will be engaged in the Phenomenal Women Political Debate on August 20, 2014.
