Contactplan Presidium Agree To Next Contactplan Consultation

SINT MAARTEN PHILIPSBURG On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, the Parliament of Sint Maarten hosted a Presidium Contactplan meeting with colleague Parliamentarians from the countries of Aruba, Curaao and Suriname. This meeting was initially scheduled for Monday, October 23, but could not take place due to delays in flight connectivity as a result of Hurricane Tammy.

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten More than 90 stakeholders came out and shared their ideas about Sint Maartens solid waste future during a consultation meeting on Wednesday, February 1.

The meeting presented the draft vision for Integrated Solid Waste Management on Sint Maarten by 2030. Based on previous discussions within government, this document outlines a future in which persons act responsibly and the country is greener and more sustainable. Parliament Elects New President Of Parliament And 2Nd Vice President Of Parliament

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten On, Friday November 26, 2021 during Public Meeting no. 03, the Parliament of Sint Maarten voted on and elected Member of Parliament, Mrs. Grisha S. Heyliger-Marten as the new President of Parliament. Mrs. Heyliger-Marten previously served as the 2nd Vice President of Parliament.

The office of the President of Parliament became vacant on November 4th, 2021 when Member of Parliament Mr. Rolando Brison by letter dated November 4, 2021, informed Parliament of his resignation as President of Parliament effective said date (IS/212/2021-2022).
