Mp Grisha Heyliger-Marten (Upp) Congratulates Mfk And People Of Curaao Election Result Should Come As No Surprise

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten –On behalf of the United Peoples Party,I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the MFK party in Curaao and their leaderMP Gilmar PikPisas for the convincing election victory on March 19th. The people of Curaao have spokenloud and clear, and are the ultimate winners ofthis andany election.

From what I have observed and been told, I think it is safe to conclude that the elections were basically a contest between the proponents of the CRE, and those who believe it is unconstitutional and violates the autonomy of the island among other objections.

The time it took for the Council of State to provide an advice on the proposed CRE/COHO, raises the question if this highest advisory body in the Kingdom acknowledged the objections brought forward by the islands and pointed these out to the Dutch Government.

The election results clearly show that the large majority of the people of Curacao are against the conditions as imposed by Holland in return for financial aid Read more

: Member of Parliament for the United People's Party MP Omar Ottley says the 2021 Parliament has exposed the untruth of the so-called 10-10-10 and St. Maarten's autonomy, causing the main actors in that deal to "falsely claim that the March 9, 2021, Petition to the United Nations is a call for Independence."

In a press release issued on Sunday, Ottley asked, "If since 10 10 10 the past Parliament and Governments of St Maarten have been telling the people that we are Autonomous and achieved self-governance, why did it take the parliament of 2021 to discover that this is not true?"

He said those scribes of the 10 10 10 agreement should have told the people of St Read more

Up Party Condemns Dutch ChristianDemocratic PartyS Remarks About Bryson

PHILIPSBURG To read an article that shows a Member of Parliament in The Hague questioning our Partys Leader for interacting with a Citizen of St. Maarten, and making that a focal point for discussion, at a time when our people are suffering through a global pandemic, economic decline, job loss, homelessness and an uncertain future, belittles the integrity of our elected leaders.

The HAGUE/PHILIPSBURG:--- The negotiations between the Netherlands and Sint Maarten about an agreement on a multi-year aid and recovery program under Dutch supervision have progressed to such an extent that signing on December 18 is possible.
But then the government and Parliament of Sint Maarten must give 'The Hague' the confidence in black and white that they will comply with earlier agreements and the conditions attached to new loans. This is evident from the letter that State Secretary Knops (BZK) sent to Prime Minister Jacobs Read more

My colleagues and the people of St. Maarten a very pleasant good afternoon.
In commemorating October 10, 2010, instinctively as a public servant you start to think about your role. You are de facto part of the government and governing, so you reflect and look ahead from that premise. As public servants, however, there are times when you get so caught up in your bubble of working day and night for your people that occasionally you forget that the best gauge of information about your country is a five-minute discussion with any citizen Read more

PHILIPSBURG: --- "No governing program or a clear ministerial list of priorities continue to place our country at risk as we go through this pandemic," says Stuart Johnson former Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunications (TEATT).

"Port of St. Maarten and Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIAE) are our biggest assets but fail to meet the needs of our people and our country."

Exclusive: Stephanie Carty Appointed Head Of Marketing And Communication Of Uszv. (Updated 2)

~ Conflict of Interest and Nepotism since USZV has no Supervisory Board. ~ Where are Governor Holiday and Government.?~Advertising monies spent on Carty's Radion stations.~

PHILIPSBURG: --- Director of USZV Glen Carty has allegedly appointed his daughter Stephanie Carty as head of marketing and communication of USZV. Carty supersedes Sharon Holder who worked at USZV for years. While Jennifer Carty contacted SMN News and denied the appointment saying her sister is working for her, sources within USZV says that the new marketing and communication director will not be working within the walls of USZV.
With the appointment that was allegedly made, it behooves the Minister of VSA and the Council of Ministers to question the alleged appointment is a blatant conflict of interest and nepotism since appointing his daughter to a high-ranking position should not be allowed, besides that, the COM and the Minister of VSA should also question how much money Carty is spending at his family's radio stations where he owns shares on advertising while other local media are being sidelined.
Another situation that is existing under the nose of the Council of Ministers is the fact that four of the Supervisory Board members' terms have expired and USZV does not have a functioning board based on its articles of incorporation Read more
