Appreciation For African Music

St. Maarten News – African Flavor, is a fairly new concert to St Maarten during the Carnival season, but after Bracket’s on stage performance on Tuesday evening inside the Festival Village, those that attended left with an appreciation for his style of music.
Some of those in attendance were suitably attired in outfits made entirely of African prints and that was their way of making a connection with two African entertainers, the first to perform for Carnival on St Maarten.
Headlining the concert which was organized by the Ikemba African Gallery on Front Street was Obumneme Ali a.k.a “Smash” and Nwachukwu Ozioko a.k.a “Vast” and they go by the name of Bracket, the group that made the smash hit Yori Yori popular and Benjai, known as the soca anthem phenomenon.
To add a touch of local flavor however, Roxanne ‘Roxxy-Webster had the pleasure of entertaining the gathering which was increasing by the minute with back up music by Fred York and Musicology.
